 No need to create a special event just so you can order some DelliPops! - you can now just 'pop' in to the cafe at Treborth Garden Centre in Bangor and enjoy a scrummy cake pop with your brew.

Treborth are just trialling DelliPops at the moment but hopefully lots of sales will mean a long term committment - fingers crossed!

This shows the lovely couple, the incredible bouquets by I heart Buttons that we were asked to co-ordinate with and the resulting Upsidellies Place Names/Favours.

Although my gorgeous son loves cake pops and would eat them all day everyday I thought for his 16th Birthday I'd make something a bit different than the usual Dellipop Cakes he always has ...

The cake inside is my usual fudgey dense chocolate cake that Dellipop fans know well but the idea for the decoration came from my favourite Baking Blogger ... Cupcake Crazy Gem I pleased to report he loved it!

Inspiration Series: Chocolate Brown, Gold and Green Theme

So, continuing on from the previous Argentine Embrace post, this post is about the inspiration behind my new Rustic Glamour collection. I've been looking on pinterest and wedding blogs for a while for new wedding cake pop ideas and to see what the most popular colours are for brides. I kept seeing mood boards around a woodsy, country theme with lots of chocolate brown and forest green. Like this one from  blog.finestationery.com

I love the rich colours and earthy textures and of course anything chocolate is going to be loved by me! At first I was thinking of designing rustic cake pops with a plain matt chocolate finish topped with chopped nuts, probably lovely green pistachios .... something like this ...

But as much as I thought they'd be yummy and fit the theme I just didn't think they really went well with the other wedding collections which are much more sophisticated and glamorous. After seeing some stunning gold themed inspiration boards I decided to add gold to the brown and green tones and cobbled together a mood board of my own from everything I'd seen and loved. ( If you're looking to make a board of your own or want to be inspired by colour take a look at The Perfect Palette - their boards are simply beautiful and its really easy to use.)

So? What do you think? I'm pleased with them - I feel like I achieved a good combination of the earthy rustic colours of chocolate brown and forest green with a more glitzy feel that I think U.K. brides will prefer.

Sneak Preview: Pop Photo Shoot

We've had a great day with Claudia from Kee Photography on a DelliPop photo shoot. Not only is she an amazing photographer but she's a lovely person too - very relaxed and easy to get on with, I bet she's great at calming bridezillas on their big day! The best news is she's super speedy and has already sent me a couple of pics so here goes, take a look, what do you think of my new creations?

A 'poptastic' Day at the Fayre

We've had a fabulous day at the wedding fayre, thank you to all the lovely Brides-to-be for your wonderful comments. It was so much fun meeting so many new DelliPop fans and learning all about your wedding plans. Definitely a successful day ... taking orders and watching you all make yummy faces when you try a cake pop for the first time! 

UpsiDellies proved to be the star of the show, everyone loved the idea of combining a place name with an edible favour.

Wedding Fayre This Sunday

  Inspired by My Cake Decorating Magazine Issue 2 

Next we made some totally yummy creme egg cupcakes. As a creme egg addict these totally hit the spot! rich chocolate cake with frosting that tasted exactly like the filling in a creme egg and then topped with a little mini creme egg, cracked to look like the filling had run out onto the cupcake .. really really scrummy to eat!

Flowers with Button Centres Wedding Inspiration

DelliPops Cakery was thrilled to present Nur Amani  with this stunning cake and lots of cake pops. For her black and gold theme we made a massive three tiered chocolate fudge cake covered in thick yummy chocolate and decorated with DelliPops cake pops and bucket fulls of glitter! We had a fantastic time at the party, dancing and eating cake! and we got a huge thrill from watching peoples joyful 'wow' faces when they ate a DelliPop for the first time!
